Design Engineer
Due to continued expansion we currently have a vacancy for an experienced, creative and forward thinking design engineer based in our Aberdeen office. Supporting our ongoing operations in the UK and overseas the main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Generation of detailed design, layout and manufacturing drawings for new and existing tools to enhance WBI’s existing product range and to meet client specific requirements.
- Perform stress analysis calculations.
- Generate assembly and test procedures.
- Assist with prototype tool testing and generate engineering test reports.
- Liaise with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure that finished items meet the design specification.
- Conduct and participate in design reviews when required.
- Provide support to the operations and marketing teams for ongoing operations and to assist with the preparation of job proposals and post job reporting.
- Provide technical and engineering support to customers as and when required.
The ideal candidate will be educated to a minimum HND level in Mechanical Engineering / Design, have a minimum of 3 years downhole tool design and development and be experienced with design software such as Auto-CAD or SolidWorks. Previous experience of Coiled Tubing / Thru-Tubing Fishing tools and / or wireline tools is preferred.
Thru-Tubing Fishing Tool Supervisor
To supervise the field execution of thru-tubing fishing and milling operations. Applicants must be self motivated with a clear customer focus, good communication skills and demonstrate a good understanding of live well conditions and downhole problems. Previous supervision of fishing tool operations preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants with supervisory experience in coiled tubing or snubbing operations.

Operations Engineer
We are currently seeking a Thru-Tubing Operations Engineer to support our operations in the UK and internationally. The position is primarily onshore based in Aberdeen but will also involve some travel and field operations support. Key responsibilities will include; providing technical sales support and preparation of technical proposals for various Thru-Tubing / Coiled Tubing applications; develop and engineer technically sound well intervention solutions; provide onshore technical support to field personnel; help to develop and maintain new and existing client relationships and business opportunities; Provide customer support where necessary for all ongoing projects and operations; provide technical input for new product development and technology solutions.
Applicants must be self motivated with a clear customer focus, have good communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate a good understanding of well intervention and downhole problems. Applicants should have an engineering qualification or have previous technical experience in thru-tubing fishing, coiled tubing, well services or well intervention operations. Consideration will be given to applicants with a proven technical / engineering background and supervisory experience in coiled tubing or snubbing operations.
