The Quick Connect is a self aligning tool string connector, capable of withstanding torque in both directions.
The two halves are simply stabbed together; the upper and lower sections are designed to self align before the teeth engage allowing torque to be transmitted through the tool. The lower locking nut is then screwed down and tightened to lock the two parts together, the upper locking nut is then screwed down, tightened and secured in place by three grub screws. The tool has full pressure integrity once the two parts are locked together.
The tool can be used where it is difficult to rotate the tool string or the tool string cannot be turned during deployment, pressure deploying / un-deploying operations or working at heights.
